No Failure, Only Feedback

It’s not just a slogan. It’s something we believe, teach, and coach.

Perfection is unattainable, that doesn’t mean we can’t grow.

We can get better at something, even be an expert at it, and still screw up from time to time.

If we come to practice our games with a problem-focused mindset, then we’ll focus on the missed shots and opportunities.

Instead, we want you to remember that pickleball is a game of growth and experimentation.

Pickleball is easy to learn, hard to master.

The more failure-focused we are, the less fun and social we become. And, the less fun it is for our partners and opponents.

Instead, at All Phases Pickleball, we’re choosing to see the best in us, our game, and our potential.

Our “No Failure, Only Feedback” promise is a reminder that we all need to continue learning.

We want everyone:

  • to examine missed shots as opportunities to know where there are gaps in your game

  • to experience a game against better competition as a learning experience

  • to ask for feedback from better players

  • to challenge ourselves to be more mentally, emotionally, and physically resilient

  • to enjoy the game, be challenged, and fun together

  • to know that if we want to get better, we have to put in the work and rise above that inner voice that tells us to stop

No Failure, Only Feedback is a mantra to stop that critical inner voice that takes the fun out of a game.

So, the next time you sail a serve, flub a return, or plunk a volley into the net, silence your saboteur.

Repeat to yourself, “no failure, only feedback.” Then, take a moment to mark what you need to practice or learn and get back to the game.
